The sponsors of the PokerNews MSPT event have been banned from covering their own event at the Venetian. The casino, owned by a name that lies in infamy to most online casino owners - Sheldon Adelson, banned the online publication from covering the event due to their association with online gambling.

Online gambling has recently been made legal in Nevada, the location of the Venetian hotel, however this legislation doesn't stop privately owned establishments from distancing themselves from online operators. Adelson has poured millions in to his anti-online gambling initiative and this latest show of muscle is surely an attempt to score political points with his supporters on capital hill.

Adelson may, however, be shooting himself in the foot as the online publication PokerNews does generate a lot of excitement around live events by reporting live "chip counts", video content, player interviews, event updates and more. With the World Series of Poker also currently on the go in Las Vegas, PokerNews will just have to take the reporters and their entire audience there!
